#1 on the "Walk Though Time" tour of historic downtown Georgetown, is the Jailers House Gallery. Located in the Old Scott County Jail Complex at 117 North Water Street, the Jailer's House Gallery, Phase 1 of the Arts & Cultural Center, is home to art exhibits and cultural events, offering fine art and unique handcrafted gift items for sale by local and regional artists.


The historic Jailer's House dates to the 1870's or earlier, and the jail building itself dates to 1892. Historically preserved, restored, and renovated, the Jailer's House Gallery offers a welcoming environment available for workshops, meetings, receptions, and parties. Phase 2 of the Arts & Cultural Center is the restoration and renovation of the Old Scott County Jail. The Front Porch Welcome Center offers a peak inside the past,FREE Library, and pleasant place for picnic lunches and afternoon/evening respite from travels.


The Front Porch Welcome Center is open 24/7. The Jailer’s House Gallery is opened by volunteers the first weekend of each month Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday 1 to 6 p.m., and every Saturday 11 p.m to 1 p.m. Additional hours are posted with events. The Galleries at Georgetown College

The Galleries at Georgetown College are dedicated to exhibiting and interpreting quality works of visual art through both permanent and temporary exhibitions representing a wide variety of media and techniques. The Jacobs Gallery, Cochenour Gallery, Anne Wright Wilson Fine Art Gallery, and Live. Learn. Believe. Sculpture Exhibition creates art-related opportunities and experiences of multiple levels of engagement for Georgetown College students, faculty and staff, and the surrounding community.
