5 Essential Pre-Visit Steps for Georgetown, Kentucky Travelers

Written by Dylan Marson

Travel is constantly evolving and that means making the most of your experiences can’t always be done off the cuff. Even just a little bit of preparation can make all the difference to take your adventures to the next level. Whether it’s reserving unique tours, exclusive visitor experiences or discovering local hidden gems, here's three things to do BEFORE you hit the roads that will give you the best possible Georgetown, Kentucky experience.

1. Explore Our Website!
Yes, it’s a shameless plug, but it’s also the best piece of advice we can give you if you’re planning on coming to Georgetown. Peruse our extensive listing of attractions, things to do, dining guides, blogs, local events and more! This is the ultimate one-stop resource for planning your trip so make sure you take advantage of it!

2. Secure Those Reservations!
I’m sure you’ve made reservations on trips before, and for most restaurants or paid experiences you can probably get by squeezing in a day or two beforehand. The obstacle that many travelers run into, however, comes with free tours. Did you know that most free tours in Central Kentucky are completely booked up to 3 months in advance?

If you plan on taking a free guided tour through Georgetown’s massive Toyota Motor Manufacturing Plant or experiencing the Bourbon Trail at the nearby Buffalo Trace Distillery, go ahead and secure those reservations now while you can. They’re free anyway, so you’ve got nothing to lose!

3. Consult a Tourism Professional!
Wouldn't it be nice if you just had someone who could plan your trip for you to take all the work out of it? Well....you kind of do!

Our welcome center is always staffed with helpful tourism professionals to take your calls and help you plan your next visit to the heart of the Bluegrass! Whether it's attraction information, dining guides or things to do, we are always happy to help our visitors make the best of their Georgetown experience. Calling in is also the best way to get the low-down on any hidden gems or local favorites you simply won't want to miss out on during your stay!
