The 3rd Annual United We Shop - A Kentucky Small Business Vendor Fair will occur from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, April 12, at United Talent, 101 Kaden Lane, in Georgetown, Kentucky. Small businesses will have the opportunity to showcase their Kentucky-made products and/or services at United Events. United We Shop, an indoor, air-conditioned event, will allow small businesses in the area to reach the community through this in-person event and frequent promotion.
United We Shop is planned and managed by University of Kentucky students enrolled in the UK College of Communication and Information Department of Integrated Strategic Communication event planning class in partnership with United Talent and United Events.
The event is free and open to the public. Small businesses and vendors wishing to participate are encouraged to register as soon as possible while spaces remain available.

Horsey Hundred is a leading central Kentucky cycling event sponsored by the Bluegrass Cycle Club. This event takes place on Memorial Day Weekend and features 30, 50, 66 & 100 mile rides in areas surrounding Georgetown, Kentucky. The 2025 Spirit in the Bluegrass Music Fest is scheduled for Thursday, June 12 through
Saturday, June 14, at the gorgeous Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Kentucky.
Featuring the best in bluegrass music, the event is organized by Sam Karr and Rick Greene, organizers of the IBMA award-winning SamJam Bluegrass Festival in Piketon, Ohio, and the 2025 show will mark the third bluegrass festival at the Kentucky Horse Park since the Festival of the Bluegrass was discontinued.

Author Gary O'Dell will sign and talk about his new biography of Alexander Keene Richards, Reinventing the American Thoroughbred. Richards (1827–1881) was one of the nineteenth century’s most significant Thoroughbred importers and breeders. Born in Georgetown, Kentucky, and orphaned as a toddler, Richards was adopted by his grandfather, from whom he inherited not only the family farm in Georgetown but also Transylvania, a cotton plantation in Louisiana. Horses fascinated Richards from an early age, and as his passion deepened, he became convinced that the key to improving the stamina of the Thoroughbred, in an era when American racing consisted of grueling long- distance competitions, was to crossbreed American horses with the magnificent steeds of the Middle East.

Keeneland's 2025 Fall Race Meet opens Friday, October 3, and continues through Saturday, October 25. No racing will be held on Mondays or Tuesdays. Queenslake's mission is to support U.S. veterans through events fostering connection, exercise, and community, aiming to improve mental health and reduce veteran suicide rates.
The Mogadishu Mile honors the 19 soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice during the 1993 Battle of Mogadishu. This military fitness competition brings together veterans, active-duty personnel, and civilians for a challenging experience.
Last year, teams included pilots from the actual battle and Gold Star wives. This year, we expect more pilots, soldiers from the conflict, and Gold Star wives.
All are welcome to participate, including veterans, active-duty personnel, civilians, first responders, teams, and individuals seeking a challenging workout and sense of community.
The event features an obstacle course, team-based competition, AI-enhanced video tribute, and post-event awards ceremony.

This exhibit includes a timeline comparing moments in history of Georgetown and Scott County to what was happening in Kentucky and the United States at the same time.
