Lodgings Spotlight: Come home to Home2Suites by Hilton
Written by Kathy Witt
Home2 Suites by Hilton is one of Georgetown’s newest hotels – but its emphasis is on home.
When you come in, we want you to be comfortable, to feel at home,” said sales manager Tyler Brooker.
The hotel is geared toward extended-stay guests and the atmosphere is home-away-from-home built around a concept of space and openness.
Suites feature a full kitchenette with full-size refrigerator, sink, dishwasher and microwave; a comfy living area with sofa sleeper; flexible workspace with pull-out desks; and, yes, a swivel-mounted 50-inch flatscreen television – just like home
“The décor is very European-modern,” said Tyler. “We love bright colors and open, inviting spaces.”
The lobby, called the Oasis, is a welcoming, casual community space, equipped with computers for guests who need to work but is also a comfy space for those who simply want to chill while charging electronics.
Hotel perks include free hot breakfast; the Spin2 Cycle – Hilton’s combination fitness center and laundry facility where you can work-out while washing your clothes; a saline, chemical-free swimming pool; and free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel.
But there’s more, and the “more” is what adds to that feeling of hominess, like induction burner cooktops (available from the front desk) to make that home-cooked meal; microfiber sheets that up the cozy factor; a patio with grills and seating topped by brightly colored umbrellas; and a “backyard” anchored by a firepit that is absolutely made for gatherings. And because it wouldn’t be home without Fluffy or Fido, pets are welcome.
“We have a firepit and grill sets out back, where people can get together and relax,” said Tyler. “We have guests from all over the world – including from Japan because of our proximity to Toyota Motor Manufacturing – and our hotel is designed to bring people together.”
“The hotel is absolutely wonderful,” said Tyler. Clean, too – thanks to Hilton CleanStay with Lysol protection, a level of cleanliness that builds on the already high standards of housekeeping and hygiene at Hilton properties worldwide, where hospital-grade cleaning products and upgraded protocols are currently in use.
“Everything is clean” said Tyler. “Everything is wiped down with Lysol wipes. Remote controls are cleaned and wrapped every time. Doors are sealed once rooms are cleaned to show guests they are the only ones who’ve entered the room since it was cleaned and inspected.”
Hilton’s commitment to clean is seen throughout the hotel, from check-in to check-out, with signage and brochures letting guests know exactly what the hotel is doing to keep them safe.
“We take pride in our hotel and in being a Georgetownian,” said Tyler.

Hotel to Home Hack: “From a housekeeping standpoint and especially during COVID-19, we’re taking extra precautions with our laundry. Hydrogen-peroxide is our best friend. It can clean anything and get any stain out.” Tyler Brooker
