Far Out Espresso pours coffee for hep-cats
Written by Kathy Witt
A converted antique horse trailer with a laidback vibe. Boss baristas. Roasted coffee beans that are right on. Far Out Expresso.
Yeah. Nothing but groovy happening here.
Tyler Rogers may have had the dream to open this funky open-air coffee shop, but he credits Georgetown for making it one bad pad. And by bad, we mean good – awesome, in fact.
“The community has been overwhelmingly supportive and truly has given the shop the character and environment it is known for,” said Tyler. (Think: outta sight.) “Our baristas often know our regulars by name and our customers always know they can get their favorite drinks made exactly how they like it, every time.
The drinks menu features espresso, lattes, cappuccinos, cold brew, smoothies, frappes, teas and fresh snacks, including fruit and baked goods. Bags of Organic House Blend and Organic Special Roast can be purchased to enjoy at home. The beans for all the coffee come from local micro coffee bean roaster, City Roastery.
“Our most popular drinks are our frozen frappes,” said Tyler. “We always have a weekly special available as a hot or iced latte or as a frappe. All of our drinks are made the traditional Italian way, and our iced lattes are known for having a smooth, foamy top.”
The drinks are so delicious, you’ll find yourself wanting to bogart the entire beverage – meaning keep it all for yourself, in 1960s vernacular.
Far Out Espresso’s drive-thru offers a convenient way to grab your favorite drinks, whether in cold weather or under COVID restrictions. Customers can also opt for delivery through DoorDash.
“Customers are always welcome to call in an order ahead of time if they’re in a hurry,” added Tyler.
When the weather is nice, Far Out Espresso’s large shady patio beckons caffeine lovers to hang loose among the plants. A small pond and relaxing music add a rad vibe, making it a flippin scene for meeting up with friends, studying or getting mellow with a good book.
But no matter what the weather, every day’s a sunshine day at Far Out Espresso.

Double-shot of Far Out Espresso’s rich, locally roasted espresso
4 oz milk (of your choice)
2 TBSP turbinado
