Holiday fun to be had in Georgetown, KY!

 

Letters To Santa
November 25 - Drop off date | December 16 - Pickup date
It's time to mail off your letters to the big man in the north pole with a little help from the Georgetown & Scott County Museum! All are invited to write a letter to Santa and drop them off at the museum to be mailed to the North pole. A personalized letter from Santa himself will be waiting in one of the Museum's post boxes on December 16th! Southern Lights Holiday Festival
November 25- December 31, open daily 5:30-10pm
Named one of Kentucky’s Top 10 Winter/Holiday Festivals and Events by Kentucky Travel and Tourism, Southern Lights is a favorite holiday tradition throughout the Bluegrass and beyond. The annual Southern Lights Holiday Festival takes place at the Kentucky Horse Park, Nov. 25-Dec. 31 (Closed Christmas Day) . With three full miles of lights, this family-friendly festival has an eye-popping, selfie-worthy array of holiday displays. Drive through the lights, then enjoy park activities: local crafts, model trains and mini train rides, visits with Santa, pony and camel rides, an exotic petting zoo and more. ChristmasTime 2023
Tuesday through Saturday evenings beginning at 5:00 p.m. (ET) from November 24 through December 30. Closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day
ChristmasTime at the Ark Encounter is becoming a Christmas tradition for families in Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. Enjoy the spectacular Christmas video sharing the hope of Christmas! And the state-of-the-art, 70-by-22-foot LED screen inside the Answers Center really makes the video colors and animation pop.

Small Business Saturday
November 25th
There is something special about traveling to a small town during the holiday season where locally-owned eats and boutiques are in abundance. In and around Historic Downtown Georgetown, KY is a shopper’s delight, especially when approaching the holidays. All of our businesses light their storefronts up with cheerful decorations  and offer some of the best deals around. This year’s Small Business Saturday, set for Nov. 25, is an opportunity to discover, celebrate and support Georgetown’s many small businesses. A promotion launched in 2010 by American Express to encourage people across the country to support small, local businesses, it is a day to recognize all contributions small businesses make to the local community, including economic development, jobs, charitable donations and more. Hanging of the Green at Georgetown College
November 30th
The community is welcome to join Georgetown College for the annual "Hanging of the Green," a special chapel service to mark the start of the Advent of Christmas seasons. The chapel service begins at 7:00pm on Thursday, November 30 in the John L. Hill Chapel on Jackson Street, where parking is available along the street and at the surface lot at Jackson and Military. Home for the Holidays Parade & Tree Lighting
December 2nd
Come “Home for the Holidays,” on Dec. 2 when Georgetown/Scott County Tourism Commission presents its annual Christmas tree lighting and parade, activities and open houses. Picturesque with its Victorian streetscape and buildings – 200 are listed on the National Registry of Historic Places – downtown Georgetown will be decorated for the holidays and ready to welcome Santa during the parade at 6pm & tree lighting to immediately follow. Merry Christmas to All at Georgetown College
December 3rd
The Georgetown College Choir is hosting a “Merry Christmas to All” concert in the John L. Hill Chapel on Sunday, December 3 at 4:00 PM. Students, faculty, alumni, and community members are invited for a night of song and fellowship to ring in the Christmas season. Ward Hall Candlelight Tours

December 7-10 & 14-17, open 5:30pm-9:00pm
The grand and gracious Greek-Revival-style mansion, Ward Hall, will be resplendent with the glow of dozens of candles during its annual Christmas Candlelight Tours. Explore this 12,000-square-foot villa that was paid for in $50,000 in gold when it was built in the 1850s and hear the stories of Sallie Ward, the “Belle of Louisville,” who loved nothing more than scandalizing polite society.
