Georgetown/Scott County Tourism Joins Statewide "Kentucky Horse Power" Campaign

Experience the Thrill of Kentucky  - From Horse Trails to High-Speed Boat Races, Adventure Awaits

GEORGETOWN, KY – June 10, 2024 – Georgetown/Scott County Tourism is excited to announce its participation in the statewide "Kentucky Horse Power" campaign, launching on June 10th. This initiative, led by the Kentucky Lake Convention and Visitors Bureau (KLCVB), aims to enhance the visibility and allure of Kentucky's diverse landscapes and activities through visual storytelling, capturing activities and events that only Kentucky could offer its visitors.  These engaging experiences will be showcased across a variety of paid channels and social media.

Overview of the Campaign:
"Kentucky Horse Power" offers a comprehensive adventure roadmap across the state, blending action, rest, and travel for the whole family. Visitors can follow curated paths or create their own journeys, exploring the beauty of Kentucky through the lens of horsepower on land, air, and water.

Key Features:
The campaign highlights four main experiences.

1. Horsepower on Horses: Explore equestrian culture with activities like Kentucky Downs Racing, horseback riding at Land Between the Lakes, and visits to local horse farms and campgrounds.
2. Horsepower on the Water: Enjoy aquatic adventures with boating on Kentucky Lake and Lake Barkley, fishing at Lake Cumberland, and thrilling speed boat events.
3. Horsepower on Land: Dive into the world of automobiles and big machines, featuring car shows, visits to the National Corvette Museum, and tractor pulls.
4. Horsepower Family Experiences: Discover family-friendly activities such as wildlife encounters at Kentucky Downunder, scenic train rides, and historical tours.


Campaign Objectives and Impact:
• Increase Brand Awareness: Aim to boost recognition of the Kentucky Lake area by 25% by the end of 2024.
• Boost Visitor Numbers: Target a 15% increase in visitors within the next 12 months.
• Enhance Social Media Engagement: Strive for a 50% increase in social media interactions during the campaign.
Special Events and Highlights:
• Kickoff Event: The campaign will launch on June 10th with a splash across social media, paid media, and partner sharing in each of the participating counties and cities.
• Monthly Highlights: Each month will feature a specific theme, such as "Great Outdoors Month" in June and "Car Care Month" in October, with corresponding events and beautiful storytelling to engage visitors for a glimpse of the real event to attract in person visitors and travelers tot he state.
