Super 8

Super 8Not your momma’s Super 8 – and that’s a good thing

Customized headboards that showcase slices of Kentucky heritage life. Modern tones of gray, black and white with splashes of soft green and Kentucky blue as accents. A neat-as-a-pin breakfast buffet and seating area.

Super 8 by Wyndam Georgetown may be an economy brand hotel, but its décor, strong sense of place, amenities and customer service give it all the feels of a much higher end stay.

“We really wanted to go above and beyond and transform the hotel into something really special,” said Shawn Bowy, owner/president of the Samba Hotel Group.

One look at the captivating horse mural, plank flooring and bourbon barrel artwork in the lobby shows Bowy’s goals were achieved.

“We wanted our guests to walk in and immediately know they are in Horse Country,” he said. “The equestrian elements allow us to show how proud we are to be part of the horse tradition in Georgetown and Kentucky and other decorating touches let us bring a little piece of the Bluegrass into the experience for every guest.”

Also adding to the ambience are the new furnishings and plank flooring in guest rooms, plus  Simmons BeautyRest Pillowtop mattresses and bedding and drapes in a subdued color palette; a come-hither breakfast bar that serves up eggs, sausage gravy and biscuits, pancakes, muffins, oatmeal and other goodies; and a well-trained staff whose esprit de corps shines through its teamwork approach, positive attitude and sincere customer service.

“Our hope is that when people stay with us they are able to see the added value we provide and that our customer service and new rooms are on par with that of the higher end and more expensive hotels in the area,” Bowy said.

“A way to bring that clean, comfortable feel from our hotel to your home is to choose one standout piece surrounded by clean, neutral shades of colors that complement the room. For instance, in our rooms, the standout piece is our art-inspired headboards surrounded by the neutral shades of grays and green that support that piece.” Shawn Bowy, Super 8 by Wyndam Georgetown
