GEORGETOWN, KY – MAY 11, 2018 – It’s a party, it’s a party – a Georgetown party! Georgetown, Kentucky celebrates the summer with their much-anticipated concert series featuring popular bands, local food trucks, beer garden, and new to this year, themed nights. The Party on the Square concerts will take stage in downtown Georgetown once a month from May through September with two big events kicking-off and wrapping-up the series.

Starting the summertime season in Georgetown, the first Party on the Square will celebrate Memorial Day Weekend and Horsey Hundred Weekend with a concert on Saturday, May 26. Covering arena rock and vinyl-era anthems, Donny Brook plays for all in the square beginning at 7 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to wear their best Jimmy Buffett attire for this “Margaritaville” themed party.

The next concert in the series will have everyone on their feet with Kentucky’s 2 Cool Band on June 30. Dance music favorites from the 1960s to current charts pairs perfectly with the “Flashback to the 80s” night of big hair and bright colored attire.

Next up for downtown is the “Ladies’ Night” concert on July 21. A first timer, Usual Suspects, brings their high-energy performance to downtown during this Saturday night. All are welcome to the party as ladies come downtown in their best getup for an evening of dance moves and cocktails.

Rocksteady’s local flavor and fun-loving jams are the center of attention at the August 18 concert. This Party on the Square is a “Back to School Bash” for families, teachers, and college students alike as school starts back in session.

Party on the Square concludes with an epic finale on Thursday, Sept. 6. The exciting musical group Swing Street plays for a “Boots & Boogie” themed concert following Georgetown’s annual Fireman’s Chili Cook-Off. The evening will be hot in both chili and in performance.

“Georgetown’s Party on the Square series appears to get bigger and better each year with performances and participation,” said Lori Saunders, executive director of Georgetown/Scott County Tourism. “We want these events to be enjoyable for both locals and visitors, and adding things like the themed nights guarantee good times for all.”

The Party on the Square concert series is free and open to the public from 7-10 p.m. and located at 100 Court St. in downtown Georgetown. Lawn chairs are encouraged for participant’s leisure during the events. Party on the Square is coordinated by Georgetown/Scott County Tourism and downtown’s Celebrate Georgetown program. Sponsors for the series includes the City of Georgetown, Commonwealth Credit Union, Georgetown Family Physicians Express Care, Milestone Realty Consultants, Scott County Fiscal Court, Toyota Motor Manufacturing Kentucky, United Bank, and Whitaker Bank.
