The primary goal of the Georgetown/Scott County Tourism Calendar of Events is to inspire travel to our area and assist visitors in planning their trips. We invite local organizations to submit their event listings for complimentary posting. Priority will be given to events hosted by our tourism partners and those that appeal to a broad audience beyond Georgetown and Scott County.
We appreciate your interest in our Calendar of Events. Keeping this calendar current is vital in helping visitors discover unique experiences in our region, with many travelers planning their trips around local happenings. This calendar focuses on special public events reflecting our community’s vibrant spirit.
Here are the guidelines we follow to ensure the calendar remains fresh and relevant:
- One-time events, live concerts, and unique experiences are highly encouraged. Events like festivals, fairs, and sporting events with broad appeal, especially those that attract regional or national audiences, are prioritized.
- Recurring events such as classes, tours, and performances will be considered based on the details and available space during the event.
- Please use the search feature before submitting an event to ensure it has not been posted.
Each event is allowed one photo. Event information and photo should be submitted through the form below. Please note that submitted photos must be .jpg or .png ONLY. and should be smaller than 500k.
Examples of past approved events:
- Theatre shows and dramatic presentations
- Creative art exhibits and gallery shows
- Music events (weekly, monthly, annual, or special performances)
- Festivals and fairs (art, food, beverage, etc.)
- Sporting events
Examples of events we do not accept:
- Local-only events, such as fundraisers, school functions, or workshops, are better suited for city calendars or local outlets.
- Recurring events like bingo, trivia, or other weekly/monthly activities without an end date.
- Political events, including rallies, meetings, or campaign gatherings.
- Local government or neighborhood meetings.
- Events outside the Georgetown/Scott County area.
- School or church events with a local focus.
