Art Classes
Calling all creatives! Georgetown makes it fun to express yourself by offering a variety of classes and workshops for girlfriends, families, couples—anyone answering the call of the muse—to tap into their inner artiste.
We like to get our hands dirty–and you will too, picking as much lavender as you like from the lavender fields at Lavender in Bloom to design a beautiful wreath on a grapevine base—and enjoy the wreath’s heavenly floral scent for years.
Sit down at the wheel and throw some clay during a class at Elkhorn Pottery and make a beautiful piece of pottery.
Choose among hundreds of shapes—“Home Sweet Home,” bourbon barrel, holiday designs, rainbows, bunnies and more—and paint a personalized door hanger masterpiece with Crafty ‘N Blessed by Alicia.
Ahh—the allure of jewel-toned stained glass. Make your very own piece of stained glass at Heirloom & Gretchen’s stained glass studio, one of Kentucky’s only authentic stained glass shops.
For quilters, embroidery enthusiasts, fabric fans and newbies to the needle-arts, Birdsong Quilting is your Happy Place. Make a quilting project, taking inspiration from the shop’s thousands of bolts of fabrics, pre-cut fabrics and quilting kits.
Follow your muse to Colorspell Creative Studio and let your inner artist loose for a workshop or open studio time.

EvansOrchard
Evans Orchard & Cider Mill
It’s a breath of fresh air–a fifth-generation, 175-acre farm that has been likened to an amusement park,
with an awesome play area featuring jumbo jumpers, Apple Cider Slider, Rat Racers Big Wheel track, Hay Castle, Dirt Mountain, ropes course, petting zoo and more. Oh, and there’s produce, fresh apple cider and the farm’s famous fresh-made fried apple and peach pies, too. Not to mention a Harvest Festival in the fall.
This Kentucky Proud farm has three words for visitors: Fried. Apple. Pies. Made from apples grown in the farm’s orchards. Baked fresh into handheld pies and served at the Sweet Apple Café, and best washed down with a glass of fresh pressed apple cider, cider float or cider mimosa slush. Savor and sip then shop the fresh produce, homemade jams and jellies, local honey, homemade soaps, home décor and toys in the market/gift shop.

YukoEn
Yuko-En on the Elkhorn
Step through the Tokugawa gate of Yuko-en on the Elkhorn, the Official Kentucky-Japan Friendship Garden,
and enter a world of color, fragrance, graceful sculptural elements and serenity. With waterfalls and chirping birds adding a soothing soundtrack, the overall ambience of this four-season Japanese-style strolling garden inspires calm and quiet reflection.
Named for the literal meaning of the words, “yuko-en” (friendship garden), the garden design gently guides visitors along paths of native cane to bridges and a koi pond. Lanterns, including the Kotoji lantern, grace the landscape. A Maho-An Tea House provides a quiet resting place. Another house, the Raku, holds a kiln—the only working kiln within a Japanese-style garden in or out of Japan—and signifies the blending of two cultures. Open daily from dawn to dusk, the 5 1/2-acre garden is free to the public.
